3.What image format were you saving your work in during development of the frames?
Since i was using Inkscape to make my animation i had to save it as a PNG file in other words a 'Portable Network Graphic' i am quoting from wikipedia this is what it says about a PNG file i think it is relevant because it also talks about GIF files which is what i had to save my work as when i loaded my frames as layers onto Gimp.
